-after sputtering out, maneuvering our car to the next exit and directly into an open car shop
-building an ant playground out of stones and weeds behind the auto shop
-the good fortune of Aunt Lynn and Uncle Rob living 30 minutes away and being kind enough to pick us up and host us for the night
-a cold shower before bed on a hot, hot night
