-good-natured taunting of the mermaids with glowing pirate flags and their frisky comeback luring us to treats in the garbage can
-collecting seaweed and swimming in high-tide pools by the jetty rocks
-relaxing on and jumping off said jetty rocks
-a moonlit walk on the beach
-kayaking around the lagoon and into the bay to find mussels clinging to the grassy island edges at low tide
-watching a fisherman reel in a sting ray from the surf and then release it back into the high tide gulley and eventually back to the ocean
-lots of ukulele and swinging time under the breezy back deck
-making wind chimes from shells and driftwood
-swimming in deeper waters with the boys and tackling the swim out to the sand bar
-being pushed along in the high tide gulley washing parallel to the ocean
-finding our (plastic) (sea) lion at the beach to bring home on display
-holding out on the beach until the rain came on our last day
