-listening to Penn whisper himself to sleep, "Mama called the doctor. The doctor said, 'No more monkeys jumping on the bed.'"
-Penn climbing into the washing machine after I told him his PJs needed a wash
-a clarinet and recorder duet with Carter
-feeling proud of Rob for qualifying three relays for states (even though I would rather have the swim season over with)
Did Penn shrink at all?
ReplyDeleteNo. He is still large and in charge!
ReplyDeleteYour post made me a little jealous of how your kids can move around, but when I told another parent about it at a party today - they told me to enjoy the time that Violet's at now - he called it "potato" time because she's like a potato - you put her on the counter and she stays put.
ReplyDeleteI remember being jealous of mobile, talking, and 'independent for a few moments' children too. Making dinner and hanging laundry with one free arm were taxing at times, but I look back fondly on those days too... Lazy afternoons upstairs with Carter sleeping on me while I read away the hours. And really, we haven't stopped chasing Penn since the summer he learned to crawl (and eat slugs and grease drippings from the grill.) All true!
ReplyDeleteLike someone posted on your blog, each age really does have its own joys. Enjoy "potato" time. Maybe Rob and I are in "hot potato" time bouncing around and such!
